Rare Rembrandt Gouda Holland Mirrored Image Pair Dutch Art Deco 11 Pottery Vases. These are two mirrored matching vases by Potterij Rembrandt from Nijmegen, Holland. When the company was “taken over” by PHZ (Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland) in Gouda, Holland, they renamed themselves, Rembrandt Pottery. They continued making about 150 of the first company’s molds and used their old markings, so it is difficult to say which factory these actually came from. Regardless, we are looking at a time period of the early 1900’s, possibly early 1920s. They measure 10 3 /8″ tall, 2 7/8″ diameter across the top and the base has a diameter across the bottom of 4 3/8; together they weigh 2 lbs. They are fully marked with the words, Pottery Rembrandt, Holland, the pottery mark (a pot with the letter R in the center), 4.0.57, the decor # 3 and the artist’s initial F. Other than some age related crazing, which is throughout both vases, there are no chips or cracks. Please look at all the photos, they are the best indication of the condition of the pieces.
