This rare and magnificent pair of English Art Deco plaster figures are by Guiseppe Leonardi, whose beautiful range of figurines was produced by his studio, The Leonardene Company in Elthone Road, Holloway, London. Throughout the 1920s and 1930s they issued a large range of high quality and beautifully modelled figurative sculptures and wall masks. This seldom seen pair of figurines or bookends is typical of his models, and is painted in blue and flesh tones and each stands on a signature Leonardene painted base. May have been repainted as suggested by a fellow eBayer and in worn condition with minor losses as pictured. There appears to be no damages or repairs to the structure of the figurines. Good project or a skilled restorer. The figures are both signed to the rear of the base with the G. Studio mark together with a Registered Design Numbers for 1930’s and the model numbers as pictured.
