Here we have a set of 2 Rare Art Deco Bentwood Rocking Chair Banana Armchairs, Halabala style from the 1930’s. These bentwood banana rocking chairs are extremely collectible and rare to find. Raised on oak runners with sprung joists. These chairs are around 90 years years old. They have been re-upholstered in chocolate brown leather. There are a couple of marks on the leather, from wear and some dent marks on one of the chairs from storage. These chairs are in storage, we moved and cannot fit them into our property. The wooden frame is solid. The wooden arms are in good condition but have slight scratches due to age. The chairs rock well and the springs look fine from a visible point of view. They were recently imported from Sweden, they date from the 1930’s. The quality is excellent, they are well sprung and very comfortable. The sweeping satin birch arms curve beautifully down the the front legs, giving them a sleek and curvaceous look. The satin birch has a lovely colour tone and wonderful grain patterns. We have had the frames stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, and they have been re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric. The condition is excellent. Width – 24 inches, 61 cm Depth – 30 inches, 76 cm Height – 28 inches, 71 cm Seat height – 17 inches, 43 cm. Bankers Draft (Pounds Sterling Only). Cash on collection only. ART DECO CUFFLINKS Superb EGYPTIAN REVIVAL Pair in 835 Silver 1920s to 1930s

Superb Pair of Egyptian Revival 835 Silver and Enamel Chain Link ART DECO Cufflinks. An exquisite pair of original 1920s Egyptian Revival cufflinks made in silver with enamel detailing, these gorgeous cufflinks are by one of the German makers around Phorzheim who specialised in this type of ware in the early 20th Century, They have a pierced oval front panel with a border of enamel segments representing turquoise, malachite, lapis and carnelian encircling a central silver Egyptian urn or amphora, which has been set with 3 marcasites for a bit of added sparkle. The back panel is linked by silver chain, and is a slimmer oval shape, also pierced with a decorative enamel border, at the centre of which is and Ankh cross, the sacred Egyptian symbol which was the key to the afterlife. In really super antique condition, marked on the chain in several places (see pics). Marks show an indistinct maker’s mark, and what looks like 935, but is probably 835. These cufflinks are well made and robust, but at the same time have a light and delicate feel. When Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun’s burial chamber in 1922, revealing treasures beyond compare, and causing the whole world to go wild for all things Egyptian. ART DECO PAIR ORIGINAL TABLE FLICKERING CANDLES ELECTRIC LAMPS 1930’s LIGHTS

ART DECO PAIR ORIGINAL 1930’s TABLE LIGHTS – unusual art deco design. The scrolling details and candle bases of them are made of metal, the’candles’ are original and made of a hard material. Four flickering candle bulbs. Each lamp has Five clear glass balls suspended by wire. The glass is not damaged and each one is quite heavy. The base appears to be metal onto wood but I can’t be sure of that. At present they are both wired into one plug but each one is separately operated. They were rewired when we first had them but that was many years ago so best to check them out for yourself. You can see them working in the photos which were taken in this New Year 2023. As a family we have enjoyed these lights. Time to down size and pass them on for someone else to enjoy. They have always been much admired. Please look closely at the photos as they are the description and condition of these lights. I have had these lights in use for many years. I do not know the history of them before I bought them from antique shop Brighton, the label on them stated’1930’s. They are just as I bought them, I have not touched the authenticity. I have described the best I can but please do your own research to be sure of the listing details.

BEAUTIFUL PAIR of 1930’s CARLTON WARE FLORIBUNDA PATTERN BULBOUS VASES, 3236

On offer is a pair of matching vases by Carlton Ware from their Handcraft range which dates them to the 1920’s and 1930’s. The bulbous body and flared rim were used by Carlton Ware during this period and earlier, and to me it has an Oriental feel. The design is of stylised flowers in orange, lilac and blue on a cream ground with deep blue to the lower part and wavy lines towards the top. In good collectable condition and quite rare to get a matching pair. Markings: marked to the base with the blue Carlton Ware “Trade Mark” backstamp. It does not say Handcraft but they are certainly from the range. There is also a pattern number and order number handwritten in blue, along with a very faint impressed shape number. One vase has an almost complete yellow and black sticker which has the shape number, 139/8, and pattern number 3236. Approximate size: 215-216mm (8.5) in height – there is a slight difference between the two. The penny is shown for size comparison. Condition: both vases are in very good pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks that I can find apart from a possible hairline on the inside of one of the rims which I have tried to show in the pictures. They are finely crazed all over which is quite common for this type of Carlton Ware and there is old dirt and dust inside from extended use.
