Art Deco design sculpted wall plaques. These stunning plaques are based on part of an original frieze designed by Walter Gilbert in 1933 and manufactured by the Bromsgrove Guild for use above the elevator doors in the Derry & Tom’s department store (later Biba). Remastered into smaller plaques and as installed in a 5 star luxury hotel chain in more recent decades. The panel depicts a highly stylised forest scene of gamboling deer and birds in flight surrounding a central water feature. This plaque is very substantial made from a gorgeous Portland stone like resin material with excellent relief detailing. We have shown combinations of left and right hand versions together for illustration purposes only. Buyers could quickly and easily paint in their own colour or perhaps experiment with gold leaf for a more decadent Deco finish. Approx Size of each plaque – 15” x 15” x 0.75” (approx 37.5cm x 37.5cm x 1.5cm). Each plaque weighs approximately 2.5kg. These plaques do not include any hanging mechanism, Buyers will need to attach their own fixings if they intend to wall hang. As can be seen in the high resolution images the borders of the plaques may exhibit small chips to the arris. These items are hand made in small volumes, during peak periods the lead time may extend to between 10 and 15 days if we are unable to satisfy from stock.
